Police have charged a 45-year-old woman with murder after a man died at a Rototuna address in the early hours of the morning.
Earlier today, police said one person was in custody and they were considering charges after being called to the property around 2am.
A person was found in a critical condition and attempts by police and ambulance staff to resuscitate them were unsuccessful.
Police confirmed the man and the woman were known to each other and they were not seeking anyone else, Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Neilson said.
“We understand this tragic incident will have shaken the community and Police and Victim Support have been and will continue to work closely to offer support for those involved.”
Police expect to remain at the scene over the next two days.
