Police have concerns for the wellbeing of a 67-year-old woman reported missing near Wairere Falls last night.

Pauline Grey was reported missing to police at around 7.30pm on Sunday, a spokesperson said.

“Since then, [police search and rescue] have continued to search the area with the assistance of [land search and rescue], and a drone is due to be deployed today.”

She is believed to have driven her 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback to the Wairere Falls track.

Searchers found a jacket believed to belong to Pauline on a post near the start of the track. An image provided by police shows it is a light grey Patagonia jacket.

Police believe someone picked up her jacket and placed it on the post.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who saw Pauline on the Wairere Falls track, picked her jacket up and placed it on the post, or saw her vehicle before 8pm,” a spokesperson said.

Anyone who has relevant information is urged to contact police.
