A dirt bike rider is in critical condition after a crash involving a van in Auckland this afternoon.
The incident took place on Raglan St in Māngere East and was reported to emergency services just before 4pm.
The dirt bike rider was assessed as being in a critical condition and has been taken to Middlemore Hospital, police said.
“An investigation will commence into the circumstances of the crash, with the Serious Crash Unit to conduct a scene examination,” a police statement said.
“A section of Raglan St, near Aorere Park, will be closed so these enquiries can be completed.”
Auckland Transport Travel Alerts said on X that bus 313 was being detoured due to an “emergency services incident” on Haddon St, between Raglan and Skipton streets.
“Check live departures to see when services are running or go to Journey Travel Planner to find alternative ways to reach your destination.”
Police said they appreciated residents’ understanding and cooperation during this time while their work was carried out.
