Two people killed in a crash in Dalefield near Queenstown on Thursday have been named by police.
They were Simran Shiuagani Mala, 25, and Jamie William Pitman, 35, both from Frankton, Queenstown.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Malaghans Rd in Dalefield between Queenstown and Arrowtown around 10pm on Thursday evening, where two people were found dead at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with their family and friends in this tragic time,” a police spokesperson said.
The Matariki holiday road toll was brought to a total of three after a person with critical injuries died following a crash in Auckland on Sunday.
