Two men have been arrested in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation into the death of Maxwel-Dee Repia in Auckland’s Grey Lynn.

Emergency services were called to an address on Tuarangi Rd after multiple 111 calls reported a “firearm being discharged” shortly before 7pm on Thursday.

Maxwel-Dee Repia, 18, was critically injured and died at the scene.

Two people presented at Auckland City Hospital with gunshot wounds, and a third man was brought to the Auckland Central Police Station to be spoken with as part of the investigation.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin said a 19-year-old man was arrested in South Auckland today and charged with murder, along with three counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A second man, aged 18, was arrested in West Auckland this afternoon.

He will face a charge of being an accessory after the fact to murder and three counts of being an accessory after the fact to wounding.

Baldwin said police cannot rule other further charges.

“Our investigation is very much ongoing, and is still in the early stages.

“There is still much to do as we piece together a full account of what occurred on Thursday and the events leading up to this tragedy.

“The community has responded very positively and we are grateful for their support.”
