Three people and two dogs have been rescued after a private cable car broke down above the Whanganui River yesterday.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand services and police were called to the scene along Whanganui River Rd around 5pm yesterday.
“Three people and two dogs are trapped in a private cable car that suspends above the river,” a Fire and Emergency spokesperson told 1News at the time.
The group has since been brought to safety.
