Do you think you can beat the Chaser?
You might get that opportunity soon, as applications have opened for potential contestants for an upcoming four-episode special of The Chase New Zealand.
The four-part special would be filmed at The Chase Australia’s studio in Sydney.
“New Zealanders taking part as contestants will go head-to-head with The Chase Australia’s Chasers, including the possibility of global superstar ‘The Governess’, Anne Hegerty,” TVNZ said.
Those wanting to take on the Chaser can apply here. Travel and accommodation costs in Sydney would be at the participant’s expense.
The Chase New Zealand’s host and premier date will be announced at a later date.
The original version of The Chase, created by UK network ITV, first aired in 2009.
It stars Bradley Walsh, with the six chasers being Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan and Darragh Ennis.
The series is among the most popular on New Zealand television, with two out of three Kiwis watching in 2024.
The popularity of the UK series has spawned dozens of international versions around the world, as well as spinoffs like Beat The Chasers.
