The search continued today for missing 77-year-old Graham Russell Smith, with thermal imaging equipment deployed in the Porirua area.
Smith was reported missing at about 6.30pm yesterday after he went for a walk on Doctor Track on the Colonial Knob walkway, police said.
“It’s likely some members of the public have seen Graham, and we would like to hear from anyone who saw or interacted with him.”
Smith is around 1.65m tall, of slight build, and was wearing a blue puffer jacket and brown corduroy pants.
“He is potentially suffering dementia and has difficulty hearing,” police said yesterday.
In an update this morning, police said four search teams have been deployed in the Porirua area to assist the search.
That included Land Search and Rescue teams.
“Last night, the Westpac helicopter flew over the area Graham was last seen with thermal imaging equipment. Unfortunately, he was not located.
“Police have received a number of reported sightings that are being followed up today,” a statement said.
Anyone who saw Smith or who knew his whereabouts was urged to call 111. Anyone with other relevant information was asked to call 105.
