Canadian singer The Weeknd’s highly anticipated return to New Zealand as part of his After Hours Til Dawn tour has been cancelled — five months after it was postponed.

A Live Nation spokesperson told 1News the tour was still in the process of being rescheduled.

“Whilst we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled with all ticket holders receiving a full refund accordingly.”

Ticket holders who held on to their tickets would be able to access a priority purchase window for the new tour when announced, they said.

“All current ticket holders will receive an automatic refund. If your details have changed, or you have any refund enquiries please contact your point of purchase.”

The tour was first postponed last November due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

He sold out two shows at Auckland’s Eden Park, with one rescheduled in September to accommodate an extra show in Melbourne.

The Weekend, real name Abel Tesfaye, has yet to post about the cancellation on his social media.

The comments section of his most recent post on April 13 was full of Australian and Kiwi fans expressing disappointment of the cancellation.

“P*** poor man,” one user wrote. “Not even acknowledging the cancellation of the AUS/NZ tour after people spent so much money and fought for tickets just to see you.”

The After Hours til Dawn Tour is The Weeknd’s seventh concert tour, in support of his fourth and fifth studio albums, After Hours and Dawn FM.
