The Prodigy and Chase and Status are set to headline Christchurch’s Electric Avenue in 2025, as the music festival marks its 10-year anniversary.
Next year’s edition of the festival has been extended to two days and will be held at Hagley Park on Friday, 21 February, and Saturday, 22 February.
It will feature more than 50 artists performing across four stages.
Friday will be headlined by UK electronic dance music duo Chase and Status, who have enjoyed recent success with their No. 1 hit single Backbone, featuring Stormzy.
Saturday will be headlined by electronic dance music pioneers The Prodigy, who formed in 1990.
The festival will include 20 international acts, with Wilkinson, The Kooks and Rudim3ntal, and Texas psych-funk trio Khruangbin among the other big names.
Tash Sultana, Peking Duk, and Empire of the Sun are some of the Australian acts booked to play.
A number of Kiwi favourites will also feature, including Shapeshifter, performing with Ladi6 and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, L.A.B, Fat Freddy’s Drop, and Th’ Dudes.
Registrations for presale tickets are available now and can be found on the festival’s website.
Initial presale tickets are only available for weekend passes and will be available from midday on 10 September.
The price of first-release presale tickets starts at $249 for general admission and $899 for VIP. Single-day tickets will be available in October priced from $179 per day.
Festival director Callam Mitchell said more that 25,000 tickets had been registered, with 90% for weekend passes.
He expects both days to sell out.
“We’re stoked by the level of interest – it’s amazing to have a lineup of this calibre to celebrate our 10th birthday, and we can’t wait to party with you all,” he said.
“For anyone travelling from outside Christchurch, we do encourage you to snap up your accommodation nice and early – generally, around 60% of our audience travel from around the country to attend.”
