Heavy rain and strong wind watches and warnings are in place for various parts of the country.

- A state of emergency has been extended for a further seven days in the Nelson-Tasman area in anticipation of heavy rain fall.
- Severe weather alerts cover much of the country, with heavy rain and strong wind forecast for the Bay of Plenty and top of the South Island.
- Severe thunderstorms were expected for the upper North Island and Taranaki.
- State Highway 45 has closed due to flooding south of Ōkato.
