A person has died following a “water-related incident” in Northland this afternoon.
Police were notified that Coastguard volunteers located a person unresponsive who had been reported overdue at Bland Bay at around 12.45pm.
“Despite efforts to resuscitate, the person died,” a spokesperson said.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
