One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Waiomio, in the Far North, this afternoon.
Police say they were called to the scene on Waiomio Rd, near the intersection with State Highway 1, just after 1pm.
“The sole occupant suffered critical injuries in the crash,” police said.
Despite medical assistance, he died at the scene.
The serious crash unit is at the scene, with an investigation set to begin.
There are no road closures in place at this stage.
