One person has died after their car went down a bank in Taumarunui this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Kururau Rd just before 3pm.
“The car had gone down a bank and the driver was located deceased,” police said.
“Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are under way.”
Earlier, the crash closed State Highway 4 at the intersection with State Highway 43.
SH4 re-opened at about 4.40pm, according to NZTA, with drivers warned to take extra care.
