One person has died after a crash near Whakatāne last night.
Police were alerted to the two-car crash on White Pine Bush Rd at about 11.40pm.
“One person was seriously injured and was airlifted to Whakatāne Hospital,” a police spokesperson said.
“Sadly they have subsequently passed away.
“Two other people suffered minor injuries in the crash.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are under way.”
