One person has died following a serious crash in Russell this morning, police have confirmed.
Emergency services responded to the crash, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Russell Whakapara Rd, at around 10.35am.
“Sadly, the pedestrian received critical injuries and died at the scene,” police said.
“Police extend our condolences to their friends and family at this difficult time.”
The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remained ongoing.
