Kiwi popstar Lorde appears to have a surprise in store for Auckland after she teased a pop-up event in the city this afternoon.
The singer, whose fourth album Virgin releases next month, posted an Instagram story this afternoon that appeared to be taken at a New Zealand beach.
The cryptic post featured the word “Auckland”, an image of a pair of jeans, and a link directing fans to a WhatsApp account.
Once connected, fans received a message from Lorde, reading:
“Auckland I wanna play you something… Meet me in the city tonight? Message me if you’re keen.”
The potential pop-up is likely tied to promotion for her new album which has revolved around fan-focused events.
Last month, Lorde premiered the first single from Virgin, What Was That, at a fan event in Washington Square Park in New York City.
The gathering was initially shut down by police due to the massive influx but ended up going ahead after all, with fans who stayed getting to hear the new song.
While the exact location and time of the event is under wraps, fans were eagerly speculating on social media.
