Police have appealed for witnesses to a series of assaults that occurred in Gisborne’s central city on yesterday afternoon.
Several people were allegedly assaulted in an around Gladstone Rd and Lowe St at around 1.30pm on Saturday.
Police said most of the victims had been identified but that they wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the assaults, particularly a yet to be identified couple.
A 26-year-old man was expected to appear in Gisborne District Court on May 25 facing several charges including assault.
