Lexus New Zealand will make its return to Stanley St this summer as the official vehicle and sponsor of the ASB Classic – the most anticipated event on the Kiwi tennis calendar.

The brand will have an expanded presence at this year’s tournament. Lexus is hosting a dedicated activation zone in the serve area, where the brand-new Lexus MORIZO RR will make its public debut – sure to be a smash with car enthusiasts. Prizes will also be up for grabs from Lexus ambassador Karen Walker.

The organisers of the ASB Classic are driving all-electric Lexus RZ 450e SUVs, which are helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the tournament, and Lexus will provide a fleet of Lexus electrified vehicles for the tournament officials, players and other guests.

Andrew Davis, Lexus New Zealand Vice President, said this year’s event was “fantastic” and shared the brand’s excitement to “bring even more Lexus” in 2025.

“We look forward to playing our part in an iconic Auckland and New Zealand event filled with exhilarating tennis, unforgettable moments, and the sheer joy of experiencing amazing.”

Davis said the Lexus ethos of pushing boundaries, delivering unrivalled experiences and embracing cutting edge technology perfectly aligns with the ASB Classic’s commitment to deliver world class sport.

The tournament itself promises plenty of on-court spectacle.

Rising Kiwi star Lulu Sun is coming off a stellar season, highlighted by a quarter-final appearance at Wimbledon and a run to the final at the WTA Monterrey Open.

Sun’s meteoric rise in the rankings is an inspiration for young Kiwi tennis players, Davis said.

“Through the Lexus Design Awards and support for Auckland Design Week, Lexus supports young Kiwis in their drive to be world-class in their chosen field.

“We are thrilled that our association with the ASB Classic can support more young Kiwis to achieve their ambitions.”

General public tickets are now on sale, and with Sun likely to grace centre court, fans can expect an enthusiastic home crowd to back New Zealand’s tennis sensation.

Fans will also be treated to the return of four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka and Chilean star Alejandro Tabilo, who will defend his ASB Classic crown.

The WTA women’s tournament runs from December 30 to January 5, followed by the ATP men’s event from January 6 to January 11.
