Iwi members from every corner of the country have been travelling to pay their respects to Kīngi Tuheitia, with many leaving in the early hours of the morning to get to Ngāruawāhia.
Members of Ngāti Hine, a northern people who are part of Ngāpuhi, left Northland around 2am on Sunday.
