The Ministry for Primary Industries has issued a recall of five herb and spice products due to an undeclared presence of gluten.

Some of the products are sold at supermarkets and retail outlets throughout New Zealand.

MPI is recalling Mrs Rogers brand Naturals Butter Chicken (batch 8594), Curry Powder (batch 6206 and 8689) and Garam Masala (batch 8207 and 8690). These are sold in 35g, 38g, and 40g cardboard boxes.

The affected spice mixes are sold at supermarkets and retails outlets across the country.

The Classic Taste brand Fennel Powder with a batch number of 271126 has also been recalled. This product, imported from India, is sold in 100g plastic packaging and has a best before date of November 27, 2025.

MPI said it is sold at Fruit World New Lynn, and various selected retailers throughout the North Island. It does not affect any other Classic Taste brand products.

Similarly, Bin Inn brand Ground Fennel has been recalled for an undeclared presence of gluten. This product is sold at the Bin Inn Thames store with a batch number of 379544, and a best before date of December 15, 2025. It is sold in a 60g plastic container.

MPI noted this recall does not affect any other Bin Inn products.
