Four people are due in court today in relation to a homicide in Rotorua yesterday.

Emergency services were called to an assault on Trigg Avenue shortly before 12.30pm yesterday.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in a critical condition. He died at the scene.

Yesterday afternoon a 19-year-old female, two men aged 20 and 64, and a teenage boy were arrested.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark van Kempen said all four were due to appear in court today charged with assault and possessing offensive weapons.

“Further charges are likely,” he said.

Police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the homicide, but urged anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

“We are eager to review any CCTV or dashcam footage from the Trigg Ave area around midday yesterday,” Kempen said.
