“Nobody was injured, and the alleged offender left in a vehicle with several other occupants,” a police spokesperson said.
Ten minutes later the suspect vehicle was located, parked alongside another vehicle on Gloucester St in Taradale.
“Nine people surrendered without incident following a voice appeal from police. They range in age from 15 to 22.”
Officers located a .22 firearm a short distance away.
Five people are due to appear in the Napier Youth Court on September 26 jointly charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm, police said in an update this evening.
