Police want to see footage of two vehicles driving “erratically” before a fatal two-vehicle crash in Gordonton on Thursday morning.

The crash occurred at around 10.15am and saw a 49-year-old man killed when his Mazda collided with a white Toyota Landcruiser on Boyd Road near Williamson Road.

“Enquiries have established the Toyota, whose occupant was seriously injured, may have been involved in a dispute with the driver of a white Audi A3,” Detective Inspector Darrell Harpur.

Police are now asking for the public’s help as officers investigate the crash and want to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that captured the crash or the events leading up to it.

Harpur said the Audi had left Horsham Downs Primary School at around 10am and was followed by the Toyota.

“The vehicles are understood to have been travelling at speed and making overtaking manoeuvres.”

When the two vehicles “drove at speed” along Boyd Road, the Toyota attempted to overtake the other vehicle.

It then collided with the oncoming Mazda.

“The investigation into this crash is complex, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any dangerous driving on these roads between 9.45am and 10.15am,” Harpur said.

“We would also like to hear from those with dashcam footage, security footage, or other imagery of vehicles driving dangerously on those roads between those times.”

Anyone with information is being asked to call 105, quoting file number 240627/4717.
