A District Court judge has been named as the long-term partner of a high-profile man jailed for attempted murder.

Prominent Christchurch eye surgeon Ian Dallison pleaded guilty last year to attempting to murder his former friend and landlord and assaulting the man’s wife at a Lyttelton house.

It’s now been revealed Dallison’s partner at the time of the offending was Judge Jane Farish.

Dallison had been fighting in the courts to keep her name hidden – arguing publication of her identity would risk his safety in prison.

Judge Farish had no involvement in, or knowledge of, the attack before it took place.
