Ranfurly farmer Dawn Sangster and fellow incumbent director Gray Baldwin, of South Waikato, have been re-elected to the board of Farmlands.

Six candidates stood for the two available positions on the co-operative’s board and Mrs Sangster topped the poll, followed by Mr Baldwin.

In a statement, Mrs Sangster said it was a difficult time for farmers with low commodity prices, high interest rates and challenging weather conditions in many parts of the country.

That was why it was important Farmlands remained focused on reducing input prices to help support profitability and productivity on-farm, she said.
