A pedestrian has died and another was seriously injured following a crash in Canterbury’s Leeston last night.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Leeston and Lakes Rd and Harts Rd after a report of a vehicle colliding with two pedestrians just before 8pm.
“Sadly, one pedestrian was located deceased at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
The other pedestrian received serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination.
“Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.”
