Lorde has dropped 15 seconds of an unreleased song on social media, four years on from her last album.
In the video posted to TikTok earlier today, Lorde is seen wearing a white shirt and jeans while walking through New York City.
“Since I was 17, I gave you everything/Now we wake from a dream, well baby, what was that? What was that?” she sings over a synth beat.
The video has close to 1 million likes after being posted nine hours ago.
The Kiwi singer’s Instagram has been wiped, save for a screenshot of a single comment to her Instagram story – “WAIT WHAT?????”
It’s the first sign of a follow up to Lorde’s last album, 2021’s Solar Power. Her other albums are 2013’s Pure Heroine and 2017’s Melodrama.
Last year, she collaborated with British singer Charli XCX on a remix of Girl, so confusing for a re-release of the Grammy award-winning Brat.
