Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a fight in a Lower Hutt car park last night.
Police were called to a car park on The Strand after a report of people fighting at around 10pm.
“Those involved have left the scene in two vehicles before police arrived,” a spokesperson said.
Emergency services received a call for service to Riverside Dr a short time later, saying that a man had been injured and required medical assistance.
“He was located in his vehicle with serious injuries, which are believed to have been sustained in the altercation at The Strand.”
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Police said they were working to establish the full circumstances of what had occurred and to locate those responsible.
“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has information about those involved, to please get in touch and share what you know.”
