One person has died after “what appears to be a work-related incident” at a farm in Taranaki, police said.
Emergency services were called to a farm in Auroa at about 8.50am today.
“On arrival, a man was located with critical injuries,” police said.
“Tragically he passed away a short time later.”
A WorkSafe spokesperson said: “WorkSafe has been notified and is making initial enquiries into the death of a worker on a farm in South Taranaki this morning.
“We can’t provide any further details at this stage.
“WorkSafe extends its sympathy to the whānau and friends of the worker.”
