A paraglider has been critically injured after “falling from a height” on Christchurch’s Port Hills this morning.

Emergency services were notified of the incident on Summit Rd in Sumner around 10.50am on Monday.

Police said a person had “fallen from a height” while paragliding.

A St John spokesperson said one person in a critical condition had been flown to Christchurch Hospital.

“Two ambulances, one rapid response vehicle, and one helicopter attended,” a spokesperson said.
