A man will face court after allegedly driving his car into three vehicles before crashing into a house in Auckland last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Hillpark’s Pantera Way at about 10pm after reports a vehicle had collided with a house and into a child’s bedroom.
Inspector Mark Chivers said it was “incredibly fortunate” no one was seriously injured, but “there’s been extensive damage caused to the property and the other vehicles”.
The alleged driver, 35, will appear in Manukau District Court today charged with driving with excess breath alcohol.
Chivers said anyone who drives while under the influence is putting others at risk.
“People who drive while impaired by alcohol are putting themselves at risk, as well as everyone else on the road.
“This whole situation could have been avoided if the driver had made a different decision.”
