A worker was taken to hospital after allegedly being assaulted by three youths at a Rotorua youth justice facility last night.
Police said they was called to the facility at 10.45pm yesterday following a report of an assault.
The youths had also damaged a window at the facility, police added.
“They were taken into police custody without incident at 11.05pm. Fortunately, the staff member was not seriously injured. However, they were transported to hospital to be checked over.
“The three youths will be appearing in the Rotorua Youth Court today, charged with assault with intent to injure.”
