It’s been revealed there are lawyers on the set of the wildly popular TV quiz show The Chase, just in case host Bradley Walsh misreads a question.

In a guide on the Radio Times website, Walsh and Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan answered a range of questions, including whether the final chase is ever halted.

“If there is a slight misread, I am stopped immediately – bang – by the lawyers,” Walsh said.

“We have the compliance lawyers in the studio all the time. What you have to do is go back to the start of the question, literally on video tape where my mouth opens – or where it’s closed from the previous question – and the question is re-asked. It is stopped to the split second.”

“It means no time is lost for either the contestant or the chaser,” he added.

The pair also revealed three episodes of The Chase are filmed in a day, and whether Walsh has a time limit on his questions.

The Chase screens at 5pm on TVNZ 1, and on TVNZ+.
