It looks glamorous, but behind the outfits and fashion shows is a packed schedule, plenty of organised chaos – and one very cute piece of tech keeping it all together.

As the new editor of FashioNZ, I’ve quickly discovered that the office isn’t always an office. One minute I’m answering emails over a morning matcha, the next I’m across town for a showroom appointment, catching up with a brand, squeezing in a story between events or editing a reel from my car’s passenger seat. There’s rarely a dull moment, and my calendar has a habit of filling up faster than I can keep up with it.
Deadlines, meetings, events, content planning and the occasional last-minute outfit change are all part of the mix. Which makes being mobile a given – but if I’m going to carry my work essentials everywhere, they should look the part too. After all, I spend enough time thinking about what I’m wearing. Why should my tech be any different? Look good, work better, right?
My mornings usually start with a scroll through what’s happening across the fashion world: inbox first, then story ideas, social content and whatever trend caught my eye overnight. From there, it’s out the door and into the day, often with a to-do list that’s already evolved before I’ve even made it to my first meeting.
A laptop is non-negotiable, but I’ve started treating the rest of my work kit with the same eye I’d give to a handbag or pair of shoes. Practical, yes – but a little personality never hurts. If it’s coming with me to every meeting, event and fashion moment, it may as well look good doing it.
I’m not one to gatekeep, so let me introduce you to the Logitech Mobi Fold Mouse. Sleek, minimalist and satisfyingly compact, it feels far more like a cute accessory than a piece of office tech. The folding, wireless design has major Y2K flip-phone vibes, while its slim silhouette slips easily into my laptop pouch or handbag – leaving plenty of room for the truly essential items, namely my 15 lip glosses.
There’s something equally pleasing about the way it feels in hand. Slim, streamlined and easy to grip, it has that girl-who-has-her-life-together energy I’m constantly trying to channel. We spend so much time choosing our bags, shoes, jewellery and sunglasses, so why shouldn’t the things we use every day at work get the same consideration?
And while I’m obviously here for the aesthetics, it’s not just a pretty addition to my work bag. It’s quickly earned its place, particularly when I’m tackling those fiddly creative jobs – editing images, tweaking layouts, dragging things around or jumping between tabs. A proper mouse makes all of that noticeably easier than a laptop trackpad, especially when the “office” happens to be a café, showroom or the passenger seat of a car.

By lunchtime, I’m usually somewhere between appointments. A quick brand meeting can spark a story idea, which becomes a social concept and somehow adds three more things to the calendar. By this point, I’m ravenous. I try to bring my own lunch – I really do – but when you’re on Ponsonby Road, willpower only gets you so far. A Lulu’s Acai bowl or a sneaky Yomi frozen yoghurt usually wins. Priorities, right?
Then it’s back into my Mini Cooper – conveniently compact for this slightly nervous city driver – and off to check out a new-season summer collection. Once safely parked, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on messages, make a few reel edits and regroup before the next stop. It’s not exactly the traditional fashion-editor office, but that’s the point. The job rarely happens in one place – and that’s half the fun.
By five, it’s time for the evening-event switch-up. Outfit change, dash across town and I’m ready for a runway show, store opening or industry event. There are designers to chat with, clothing collections to discover, content to capture and, naturally, the all-important Instagram evidence that FashioNZ was there. Pics or it didn’t happen, right?
Eventually, it’s home, heels off and straight into bed. Well, almost. There’s usually one final check of the day’s stories, a social post to schedule and a few last-minute edits before I officially clock off. Then it’s LED mask on, TikTok open and a valiant attempt to avoid the inevitable late-night doom scroll.
Life as a fashion editor is fast, fun, slightly chaotic and rarely confined to a desk. So if I’m going to be working from showrooms, cafés, event spaces and parked cars, I need my tech to keep up — without compromising on style.
And if that tech is going to live in my handbag all day, it needs to earn its place. The Logitech Mobi Fold Mouse has officially made the cut: compact, clever and cute enough to feel more like an accessory than office equipment. Because honestly, if I can coordinate my shoes with my outfit, why shouldn’t I do the same with my tech?
The Logitech Mobi Fold Mouse is available for $158.99 online or in-store at most major tech retailers.
