Police have referred the death of a woman in Whangārei over the weekend to the coroner after a post-mortem examination today.
Emergency services were called to the Moody Ave address in Whau Valley shortly before 5pm on Saturday after the woman was found unresponsive.
Her death was initially treated as “unexplained”, with a scene examination carried out at the property on Sunday.
A post-mortem examination was carried out earlier today with police announcing they were no longer treating the death as suspicious.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
