With Angel Reese benched and mothers fighting, the LSU women's basketball team was in disarray after the championship game.

The LSU women's basketball team's bid for a national championship hasn't exactly gone as planned.

Tuesday's benching of star player Angel Reese and the players' mothers' alleged Instagram feud have made for an even more difficult start.

In the second half of LSU's 109-79 victory over Kent State on Tuesday, Reese was rested.

The Tigers were only ahead by two at the half, even though LSU won the game by a wide margin.

Coach Kim Mulkey of LSU gave an explanation for the benching—or, in this case, didn't really give one—calling it a "coach's decision."

After 20 years of covering LSU athletics for OutKick, Glenn Guilbeau revealed that Reese was benched in order to make a "attitude adjustment."

Reese had an extremely busy offseason, doing everything from modeling for a swimsuit spread in Sports Illustrated to participating in a music video alongside Cardi B and Latto.
