Why Is Outlander Ending After Season 8?

"Outlander" has arrived at the start of its final chapter. With the June 16 start of the seventh season of the show, viewers will have less than two complete seasons left to see the Fraser family's tale through to the end.

On January 19, 2023, Starz first revealed that the show was ending and that the eighth and final season will be the last. The network tweeted,

"What an incredible journey with an incredible fanbase." "'Outlander' has officially been renewed for an eighth and final season."

Starz also tweeted a collection of videos at the same moment, in which some of the show's stars expressed gratitude to fans for their years of support and loyalty.

Claire Fraser is the main character of the series, and her voyage back in time to 1743 sets off all of the other events. "Thank you so much for being with us from day one," said Claire Fraser's actress Caitriona Balfe.

Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in the video, said later on that "every good story has to come to an end."

Balfe claims that it seemed like the right moment to end the show. "It's really strange thinking that this time next year or whatever,

it'll be finished and that'll be it, it'll be a chapter done in my life," she stated to Radio Times on June 13. It's been so fantastic, I'm going to definitely battle with that. It will be sad to part from it.
