  • Dual-band Wi-Fi and plugins: 2.4/5 GHz support with an ESP32-C5 modem gives reliable connections. Over 80 plugins and eight dashboard layouts include calendar, news, ChatGPT, and YouTube for flexible content.
  • Open firmware and serviceable design: TRMNL ships with open source firmware and screws that let you open and modify the case. This supports custom integrations and documented community examples for hobby projects.
  • Touch gestures and sensors: Gesture touch bar and Bosch accelerometer enable quick control and auto-rotation. Qwiic expansion and planned portrait mode add more options.

The TRMNL X blends readable e-ink, hacker-friendly hardware, and long battery life into a practical display for everyday dashboards and modest DIY projects.
