The severity level of the Seahawks' $21 million starter has been revealed.

The Seattle Seahawks started well against the Los Angeles Rams in their Week 1 season opener at Lumen Field on Sunday, September 10, but they lost 31-13 in the second half.

Starting right tackle Charles Cross left the field injured on the second offensive drive of the third quarter and entered the blue medical tent.

The team announced that he was transported off the field with a toe injury after being evaluated and did not return.

The Seahawks' previous No. 9 overall pick from the 2022 NFL Draft, who inked a four-year, $21 million contract with Seattle last year, would be devastating to lose.

Pete Carroll updated Cross' status after the game. “Cross has a sprained big toe,” Caroll informed reporters.

Big Blue made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 thanks to a new regime led by general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.

Stone Forsyth played left tackle against the Rams while Jake Burhan played right tackle after Seahawks starter right tackle Abe Lucas injured his knee on the previous drive.

With both starting tackles out, the Seahawks offense gained 12 yards.

Cross and Lucas, USA Today's Tim Weaver's No. 2 and No. 3 “most important players” on the Seahawks 2023 roster, should not miss long.

Carrol should be right about Cross, as the second-year lineman is poised to play a big role on the offensive line again.
