Marcus Smart suffered a left ankle injury during the Grizzlies' game against the Lakers and was unable to return.
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins provided an injury update on Smart at the postgame news conference.
Jenkins claimed that Smart's injury would be re-evaluated this week, and it was also discovered that Smart was exiting the arena in a walking boot.
Smart was in a walking boot, which is not a good indication, and he could miss at least a few games. Terance Mann, a Clippers forward, missed six games due to an ankle sprain that required him to wear a walking boot.
While the extent of Smart's injury is unknown, fans should expect him to miss more than one or two games.
Smart's injury came at the worst possible time for the Memphis Grizzlies. Already out are Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, Derrick Rose, and Steven Adams.
Not only that, but with a 2-9 record, they have the worst record in the Western Conference.
At first, it appeared like the Memphis Grizzlies' goal was to maintain a respectable record while Ja Morant was suspended. Day after day, the Grizzlies' injuries mount, and it's beginning to be questioned whether it's all worth it.
