Caitlin Clark sets NCAA scoring record in dominant win vs. Drake

Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes were seeking to rebound from an upset 65-58 loss to Kansas State the week before. They were able to do so in spectacular way,

defeating Drake 113-90. Clark was also her normal, fiery self. Clark's effort against Drake set an NCAA record for the most 30-point games in Division 1 women's basketball history.

Caitlin Clark had 35 points, six rebounds, ten assists, and seven steals in Iowa's win over Drake. Clark scored at least 30 points for the second time this season. On Nov. 9,

she scored 44 points in a win over Virginia Tech. Clark set a career high with 27.8 points per game last season.

Clark has averaged 30.0 points per game, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in Iowa's first four games, while shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 28.3 percent from the three-point line,

and 78.4 percent from the free throw line. Clark's shooting efficiency is lower than in prior seasons, but she will most likely need more time to get those percentages back up.

Clark is a senior this season and thus eligible for the WNBA Draft in 2024. It is unclear whether she will declare for the draft at this time. She has a COVID year of additional NCAA eligibility.

She has the option of returning to Iowa for one more season before entering the 2025 WNBA Draft. Iowa advanced to 4-1 on the season with the win over Drake.
