Three people were transported to hospital and two others assessed at the scene of a reported assault on Auckland’s North Shore last night.
In a statement, police said emergency services were called to Long Bay shortly after 10pm after “a report of a group of people being assaulted and having items taken”.
“Three people received treatment at hospital for injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
St John told 1News it was notified shortly after midnight, and sent two ambulances and one rapid response unit.
“Our crews assessed and treated five patients. Three in a moderate condition who were transported to North Shore hospital, and two in a minor condition were treated at the scene,” a St John spokesperson said.
Police said further inquiries were being made into the full circumstances of the incident.
