A third person has died following violent incidents in Rotorua late last month.
A woman was found dead at a property in the suburb of Utuhina at 2.35am on September 23.
Later than morning at 5am, a man and his wife were “seriously assaulted” at a Western Heights address.
Police said at the time that these incidents were linked.
The woman died on October 5 and her husband died in hospital on Wednesday, police said.
“A 52-year-old man who was arrested and charged with murder in relation to a linked incident at an Utuhina property will now be facing murder charges in relation to all three deaths,” a spokesperson said.
The man has been remanded in custody and will reappear in Rotorua District Court on October 18.
“Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the three deaths.”
