Seven people have been left injured and two separate sections of State Highway are closed after road incidents this afternoon.

A crash involving two vehicles in Bronte, Tasman on State Highway 60 has left seven people injured.

One person has serious injuries while six people were left with minor injuries.

The crash happened around 4.50pm and has left SH60 closed near the intersection of Bronte Road.

Part of State Highway 3 is also closed in New Plymouth due to a broken down truck blocking the road in Mount Messenger.

The breakdown was reported to police just before 4pm.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and expect delays, as the road is expected to be closed for some time.

The holiday road toll stands at 11 after two more deaths today.
