Police are investigating after a “serious” collision between a dirt bike and another vehicle in South Auckland last night.

Two people were hospitalised after the Manurewa crash.

It occurred at about 10.40pm at the intersection of Great South Rd and McAnnalley St.

“The dirt bike rider and a passenger on the bike both suffered serious injuries and were hospitalised,” a police spokesperson said this morning. “Both remain in stable conditions.

“The serious crash unit was notified at the time and examined the scene.

“Police are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 105.

It comes after large group of dirt bike riders congregated and rode through Auckland last week, leading to four arrests.

It began when about 20 riders began to congregate in Manurewa.
