A body found in Central Hawkes Bay last week was confirmed to be that of a man missing since mid-March, a post-mortem found.
He was 66-year-old Earle (Pat) Taka.
His body was found by a contractor who was carrying out flood protection in waterways in the Ōtāne area on Tuesday.
“Whilst the circumstances surrounding Mr Taka’s disappearance have been investigated for some time, there is nothing to suggest the death to be suspicious,” police said.
“Police have advised Mr Taka’s whanau and are providing support at this difficult time.”
