One person has died following a serious crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in northern Oamaru this evening.
Police say they were alerted to the crash on State Highway 1 around 5.55pm today.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
“The serious crash unit is attending the scene and the road remains closed between Fernbrook Rd and Redcastle Rd,” police said.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
