As a professional dancer, sweat is a non-negotiable.

Written by Georgia Payne

Whether it be on stage or in the hot (very sticky) studio rehearsals, it really comes with the territory. So when KIT: Cosmetics’ latest workout range landed on my doorstep, I knew it was about to meet its match.

I was asked to properly put it to the test – not on a light rehearsal day, but in real conditions. So I figured I’d bring the new KIT: Sweat Capsule on a night out with the Breaker Girls as we performed three routines for the crowd at Spark Arena. If a range is made for sweat, that felt like a pretty fair trial run.

Here’s my honest take, product by product.

KIT: Magnesium Oil

I’ve always loved magnesium and ashwagandha in other areas of my life — supplements, sleep rituals, stress support — so I was genuinely excited to see them in a topical spray. The concept makes sense for dancers. Magnesium is known to support muscle relaxation (especially when paired with massage), and when your body is your instrument, anything that helps you reset faster is worth exploring.

This formula combines magnesium with arnica and ashwagandha to soothe, plus Australian wild plum for antioxidant support, which sounded pretty perfect for overworked bodies (like mine). After spraying it on post-performance, I did wake up feeling slightly less sore than I usually would. Not dramatically different (I knew I’d still worked), but the next-day muscle ache wasn’t hitting as hard.

One thing to note: there was a definite tingly sensation on application. Not painful, but noticeable. I do have sensitive skin, though, so that may have contributed. It’s worth patch-testing if you’re similar.

Overall, I think that, as an after-workout ritual, the act of spraying, massaging, and intentionally winding down is probably a great signal to your nervous system that we’re done for the day.

My rating – 8/10.

KIT: Sweat Powder

Electrolytes are essential when you dance as much as I do. You don’t always notice how much you’re depleting until the crash hits later. So the idea behind this sweet-and-salty orange hydration tonic makes sense: replenish what sweat takes out.

It’s formulated with magnesium for muscle fatigue, sodium and potassium for fluid balance and water absorption, plus vitamins B and C for energy and immune support. All things your body quietly begs for after a long show week. Taste-wise? I actually liked it. Not overly artificial, not too sweet. And on nights where it was especially hot, it genuinely helped quench my thirst. I woke up feeling refreshed, which told me it was doing its job in terms of hydration.

However — and this is important — I do have a sensitive stomach, and I felt a little off after drinking it. Nothing major, just enough to clock it. If you’ve got a sensitive tummy like me, maybe start with half a serve and see how you go.

For dancers (or anyone who sweats a lot), the concept is strong. Just listen to your body.

My rating – 6/10.

KIT: The Workout Wash

No notes. Honestly.

After a full day of sweating in makeup and costumes, you want something that actually feels like it’s doing the job. This did.

Formulated with an AHA and PHA active-acid blend — including lactic, mandelic, glycolic acid and fermented papaya — it’s designed to exfoliate, unclog pores and smooth texture. Essentially, I stepped out of the shower feeling genuinely fresh, not just fragranced. It also contains Tasmanian pepper leaf to soothe flushed skin and arnica to comfort tired bodies. Plus, the scent is so yummy and minty.

I felt genuinely clean after using it. For dancers prone to sweat-induced body breakouts or clogged pores, this one makes sense.

My rating – 9/10.

Final Thoughts

As someone who’s always moving, I like when a brand gets that sweat isn’t gross, it’s just part of the job.

Sweat by KIT: feels considered. The ingredients hit all the things active bodies actually need — muscle support, hydration, recovery, and exfoliation. Not every product was a perfect fit for me, but that’s just personal biology, not a reflection on the range.

If you move a lot, whether dancing, training, running, or performing, there’s something in this range that will likely slot into your routine. And for me, dancing all day, anything that helps me wake up feeling like I can survive round two is (obviously) a win.
