Part of Auckland’s Southern Motorway has been closed after a two-vehicle crash saw a person taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at around 12.30pm. The crash took place in the northbound lanes near Conifer Grove.
“Initial indications are that one person has been seriously injured,” police said.
A St John spokesperson said one person received serious injuries and was taken to Middlemore Hospital.
The motorway is currently closed in the area for traffic heading northbound, and diversions are in place.
“Motorists are advised to please avoid the area and take an alternative route, if possible,” police said.
